Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 81828:

Mineral Species: Brookite on Quartz.
Location of origin: Magnet Cove, Hot Spring County, Arkansas.
Description: Translucent gray quartz crystals to 24 mm with scattered black-metallic brookite crystals to 7 mm. The gray color of the quartz is caused by impurities in the outer layers, the cores are smoky. Small brookite crystals are visible everywhere under 20x. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, but minor damage is visible under 20x magnification. Ex. Miller collection T2696; ex. Betts #64649; ex. Mort Metersky collection.
Overall size: 35x22x18 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 0.2-24.0 mm
Price: $28 (plus shipping).
