| Mineral Species: Rhodonite doubly terminated crystal with
Franklinite. Location of origin: Franklin Mining District, Sussex County, New Jersey. (Type Locality for Franklinite) Click here to see other minerals from Type localities. Description: Doubly terminated lustrous transparent-to-translucent red-pink rhodonite crystal with a 3 mm gray-metallic franklinite crystal included in one face. The rhodonite crystal is complete all around. The specimen was extracted from solid rock, not from a cavity, resulting in minor surface imperfections where the surrounding matrix was removed. Ex. Miller collection T3960; originally acquired in 2011 from Chris Wright (1946-2014) from old 1950s collection. Overall size: 30x22x15 mm. Size of individual crystals: 3-30 mm Price: $325 (plus shipping). |
