The surfaces of the famatinite crystals have overgrowth of small tennantite crystals to 0.5 mm. Complete and undamaged except the contact where it was formerly attached to surrounding matrix. Collected ca. 1994-5. This specimen of Famatinite is one of the ten best Famatinite specimens found in a one-time find at the Quiruvilca Mine, Peru. It was in my private collection for the last 10 years and is from the collection of Georg Gebhard, who was the co-author of "Die Weltbesten Kristalle von Famatinit und Luzonit," 1998 in Lapis, vol. 23, No. 9, pp. 35-37.
