Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 82515:

Mineral Species: Corundum var. Ruby in marble.
Location of origin: Mogok District, 115 km NNE of Mandalay, Mandalay Division, Myanmar (Burma).
Description: Cluster of many translucent pink ruby crystals, the pink gem variety of the mineral corundum, perched on the top edge of translucent light-colored marble. Under magnification can be seen many small gem-grade sections that are internally transparent. The ruby crystals fluoresce red under LW-SW UV illumination. Ex. Miller collection T3914; ex. Betts #78579.
Overall size: 22x13x11 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-4 mm
Price: $22 (plus shipping).
