Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 82549:

Mineral Species: Hematite pseudomorphs after Magnetite.
Location of origin: Payún Matru, 240 km south of Mendoza, Malargue Department, Argentina.
Description: Sparkling gray-metallic hematite pseudomorphs after octahedral magnetite crystals to 14 mm. The magnetite formed first (which is magnetic), then altered to hematite (which is not magnetic), while maintaining the original magnetite shape. Ex. Miller collection T212.
Overall size: 28x24x13 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 3-14 mm
Price: $16 (plus shipping).
