Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 82572:

Mineral Species: Tanzanite (blue-violet color change gem variety of Zoisite).
Location of origin: Merelani Hills, western slope of Lelatama Mountains, Arusha Region, Tanzania. (Type Locality for Tanzanite) Click here to see other minerals from Type localities.
Description: Pristine small lustrous transparent tanzanite crystal, the trichroic blue-violet gem variety of zoisite, with transparent gemmy areas especially the termination. The tanzanite crystal shows slight color change: front=blue, side=violet. No damage. Weight: 0.70 carats. Ex. Miller collection T1466; acquired ca. 1995.
Overall size: 5x4x3 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 5 mm
Price: $90 (plus shipping).
