Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 82579:

Mineral Species: Franklinite with minor Calcite and Willemite.
Location of origin: Franklin Mining District, Sussex County, New Jersey. (Type Locality for Franklinite) Click here to see other minerals from Type localities.
Description: Lustrous black-metallic octahedral franklinite crystals to 12 mm with translucent colorless calcite and tan-colored willemite. Under shortwave ultraviolet illumination the calcite fluoresces orange and the willemite fluoresces green. Ex. Miller collection.
Overall size: 16x13x12 mm.
Size of individual crystals: micro to 12 mm
Price: $15 (plus shipping).
