Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 82581:

Mineral Species: Sphalerite and Willemite in Franklinite.
Location of origin: Buckwheat Dump, Franklin Mining District, Sussex County, New Jersey. (Type Locality for Franklinite) Click here to see other minerals from Type localities.
Description: Translucent brown sphalerite and brown willemite in franklinite-rich ore. Under shortwave ultraviolet illumination the sphalerite fluoresces yellow and the willemite fluoresces green. Sphalerite, a sulfide mineral, is uncommon at this oxide-rich mine. Ex. Miller collection T3106; collected 3 July 2016.
Overall size: 30x24x20 mm.
Size of individual crystals: micro to 1 mm
Price: $18 (plus shipping).
