Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 82607:

Mineral Species: Artinite and Hydromagnesite.
Location of origin: Spring Street Excavation, New York City, Staten Island, Richmond County, New York.
Description: Classic specimen of acicular white artinite crystals to 1 mm and white hydromagnesite crystals to 1 mm on green serpentine found during construction of a sewer line on Spring Street in Staten Island, one of the five boroughs of New York City. No damage. Ex. Miller collection T3706; ex. Betts #76364; collected ca. 1972; See Rocks and Minerals, September 1973: Mineral Collecting in NYC..
Overall size: 28x14x10 mm.
Size of individual crystals: micro to 1 mm
