Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 82892:

Mineral Species: Corundum var. Sapphire.
Location of origin: Uva Province, Sri Lanka.
Description: Two interconnected transparent pale-pink sapphire crystals with tabular hexagonal form and flat basal pinacoid terminations. This is a pink sapphire, a gem variety of the mineral species corundum. If the sapphire were deeper pink it would be called ruby Ex. Miller collection T2148.
Overall size: 25x14x8 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 15-20 mm
Price: $18 (plus shipping).
