Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 82905:

Mineral Species: Calcite (twinned crystals).
Location of origin: Empire State Zinc Mine #4 (formerly ZCA No. 4 Mine), 3900' Level, Balmat, St. Lawrence County, New York.
Description: Lustrous transparent pale pink-purple calcite crystal, with no matrix attached, with a smaller calcitecrystal interpentrant-twinned on {00·1} on the top edge. The calcite clarity is extraordinary for this find that usually produced cloudy crystals. The crystal faces are clean and in good condition, the outer edges show minor wear. Collected in 2023.
Overall size: 4x2.5x2 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 12-40 mm
Price: $450 net (plus shipping).
