Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 82908:

Mineral Species: Elbaite Tourmaline (bi-colored).
Location of origin: Himalaya Mine, Mesa Grande District, San Diego County, California.
Description: Lustrous bi-coloredtransparent-to-translucent elbaite tourmaline crystal, with small elbaite crystal on the bottom. The large elbaite crystal is pink with green termination. The rear of the elbaite crystal intersected a white feldspar crystal. Complete and undamaged except the contact where it was formerly attached to surrounding matrix. Weight: 131.2 grams. Ex. John Durkos collection #I40; acquired in 1960 from Snyder's Rock Shop for $135..
Overall size: 5.5x4x3 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 55 mm
Price: $1250 net (plus shipping).
