Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 82961:

Mineral Species: Babingtonite.
Location of origin: West Roxbury Trap Rock Co. Quarry, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.
Description: Rare specimen of lustrous black babingtonite microcrystals on front and rear faces of gray trap rock (basalt?) Specimens of babingtonite from this locality are rare (only two illustrated on Mindat.org) because few collectors had access to the quarry. Ex. Miller collection T3730; ex. E. Greene private collection SIL-522.
Overall size: 24x13x6 mm.
Size of individual crystals: micro
Price: $28 (plus shipping).
