Minerals Species: Fluorite.
Location of mineral deposit: Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois.
Description: Very nice cubic crystals of fluorite to 3 cm. Center is translucent yellow with thin 2 mm outer layer that is colorless transparent fluorite.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 4x4x2 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 2-3 cm.
