Pyrite and Stilbite-Ca in Calcite-filled vein from Harlem Meer, in the northeast corner of Central Park, New York City, New York County, New York.

Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 330:

Mineral Species: Pyrite and Stilbite-Ca in Calcite-filled vein.
Location of origin: Harlem Meer, in the northeast corner of Central Park, New York City, New York County, New York.
Description: Lustrous yellow-metallic pyrite crystals to 3 mm and translucent brown bladed stilbite crystals in fan-shaped aggregates to 18 mm across in a calcite-filled vein running through gray schist. The calcite was dissolved to expose the pyrite and stilbite. Personally collected in 1999 during reconstruction of the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center.
Overall size: 15x8x6 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-9 mm
