Mineral Species: Stilbite-Ca with minor Muscovite. Location of origin: Water Tunnel No.3 under Manhattan Island, New York City, New York County, New York. Description: Lustrous translucent beige-brown bladed stilbite crystals to 4 mm in tapered aggregates on one face of fine-grained biotite gneiss with minor muscovite mica on the edge. Collected by Dietmar Stitz in 1972. Overall size: 10.5x7x4 cm. Size of individual crystals: 1-4 mm |
