Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 353:

Mineral Species: Dravite-Uvite Tourmaline in Inwood Marble.
Location of origin: northwest corner of 207 Street and Broadway, Manhattan Island, New York City, New York County, New York.
Description: Large curved segments of lustrous brown dravite-uvite tourmaline crystals embedded in sugary Inwood Marble. These tourmaline crystals range from dravite (Na-rich) to uvite (Ca-rich), often within the same crystals and both species should be listed. Personally collected November 2, 2013.
Overall size: 7x5x2.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 12-25 mm
