Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 371:

Mineral Species: Rutile.
Location of origin: Harlem Ship Canal excavation, norther Manhattan Island, New York City, New York County, New York.
Description: Terminated prismatic dark red-brown rutile crystals with no matrix. The rutile crystal exhibits red translucency with strong illumination from the rear. Personally collected in 1998 from excavated rock used as landfill in Inwood Park.
Overall size: 12x3x2 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 12 mm
