Mineral:Corundum var. Ruby
Locality:Jegdalek, Sorobi District, Kabul Province, Afghanistan
Description:Single crystal of bright red corundum (variety Ruby) on white marble matrix with minor phlogopite. Crystal faces show the typical growth patterns found in corundum. One corner on the rear is incomplete. Fluoresces red under UV illumination.
