Mineral:Calcite with Native Copper
Locality:Franklin Mine, Franklin (near Hancock), Houghton County, Michigan
Description:Thin plate of basalt matrix covered on front and back with transparent, colorless, scalenohedral calcite crystals up to 14 mm. Scattered between the calcites are several irregular blebs of native copper. The copper is NOT included within the calcite.
