Mineral:Hematolite (iridescent stalactites)
Locality:Peters Mountain, Alleghany County, Virginia
Description:Large stalactitic formation of hematite with coating of iridescent hematite variety turgite. The turgite forms beautiful rainbow colors from violet to green and blue. Where the coating has flaked away, brilliant hematite is visible beneath.
Overall Size:21x9x6 cm
Crystals:micro to 4 mm
