Mineral:Calcite on Quartz with Limonite coating
Locality:Cumbria, England
Description:Complex crystals of colorless calcite up to 10 mm on matrix of colorless quartz crystals up to 5 mm. All crystals have a brown limonite coating that highlights the edges of the crystals. The calcite crystals show twinning when viewed under magnification. From old collection ca. 1890
