Locality:Pulsifer Quarry, Mt. Apatite, Androscoggin County, Maine
Description:Single crystal of gemmy, purple apatite from the famous mine on Mt. Apatite that produced the greatest apatite crystal ever found in the US (the Roebling apatite in the Smithsonian). The crystal is lustrous and has intense color.
