Mineral:Calcite on Amethyst Quartz
Locality:Guanajuato, Mexico
Description:Plate of deep-purple amethyst crystals up to 14 mm long with partial overgrowth of white calcite microcrystals on oriented faces (the calcite is all on faces facing the same direction). No damage. Old number on the specimen (Smithsonian?) Ex. Robert C. Linck (1905-1970)
