Mineral:Calcite pseudomorphs after Aragonite
Locality:Raura District, Cajatambo Province, Peru
Description:Large calcite pseudomorphs after hexagonal aragonite crystals up to 5 cm long. The pseudomorphs are arranged in an elongated central cluster with a smaller group on one end. The quartz has completely replaced the aragonite, atom by atom.
Overall Size:13x9x7 cm
Crystals:1-5 cm
