Mineral:Almandine Garnet
Locality:Russell, Hampden County, Massachusetts
Description:Well crystallized cluster of dark brown almandine garnets in muscovite matrix. Garnets from this locality set the standard for New England garnets - sharp and lustrous. Minor damage to corner on lower left. The miner never revealed the exact location.
