Description:Mass of black, crystalline calcite with old label from Harvard. The label incorrectly identifies the specimen as siderite, possibly because of color and fizzing in acid, but the specific gravity indicates calcite is correct. Probably from Germany. Ex. Harvard University Mineralogical Museum #4681
