Mineral:Calcite var. Butterfly-Twin on Amethyst Quartz
Locality:New Mexico
Description:Colorless calcite crystals on matrix of pale-purple amethyst. Several of the calcite crystals are butterfly-twins up to 17 mm across. Unfortunately, the old label that accompanies the specimen did not give a more specific location.
Overall Size:10x7x8 cm
Crystals:5-8 mm
