Mineral:Smithsonite and Goethite on Pyrite
Locality:Tsumeb Mine, Otavi-Bergland District, Oshikoto, Namibia
Description:Pocket in pyrite matrix (sulfides are relatively rare from Tsumeb) lined with rhombic crystal of smithsonite up to 8 mm. The surfaces of the smithsonite crystals are coated with red-violet goethite in hemispherical clusters.
