Locality:Tafelkop, Goboboseb Mountains, 27 km west of Brandberg Mountain, Erongo region, Namibia
Description:Transparent crystal of purple amethyst quartz. Color varies from milky to medium purple. Internally the crystal is transparent with many gas cavities and red inclusions of lepidocrocite (sometimes identified as hematite).
