Mineral:Quartz var. Amethyst with Hyalite Opal
Locality:Balkhash Lake, near Preozersk, Karaganda Oblast, Kazakhstan
Description:Two transparent purple amethyst quartz crystals on thin plate of brown matrix. The purple amethyst color is in zones running through the crystals. Part of one amethyst crystal has overgrowth of translucent hyalite opal that fluoresces green under UV.
Overall Size:3x2x1.5 cm
Crystals:12-16 mm
