Mineral:Quartz var. Amethyst
Locality:Ellis-Jones Mine, Due West, Abbeville County, South Carolina
Description:Pale purple crystals of amethyst intergrown and coated with sugary, limonite-stained colorless quartz. The amethyst crystals are doubly-terminated but their lower termination is buried in the sugary quartz matrix. Terminations have minute chipping.
Overall Size:4x4x2.5 cm
Crystals:1-40 mm
