Mineral:Fluorite with Calcite
Locality:Blackdene Mine, Ireshopeburn, Weardale, County Durham, England
Description:Large plate of purple fluorite crystals up to 6 cm on edge, with partial overgrowth of lustrous, colorless calcite crystals up to 15 mm (flattened rhombic crystals). Under UV illumination the calcite fluoresces orange and the fluorite fluoresces violet. Ex. Phillip Greybill (1935-2018) collection
