Mineral:Rutile on Muscovite
Locality:Shelby, Cleveland County, North Carolina
Description:Thin crystals of dark red rutile in a depression on the side of a cluster of greenish muscovite mica crystals. The rutile crystals are partly embedded in the muscovite and most are incomplete. The muscovite is neon-green when viewed on edge.
Overall Size:3x3x2 cm
Crystals:1-9 mm
