Mineral:Quartz epimorph after Anhydrite
Locality:O.S. Prospect, Uncompaghre Mining District, Ouray, Colorado
Description:Rectangular formation of 3-4 mm quartz crystals over a thin anhydrite crystals, retaining the original anhydrite shape (epimorph). Fully crystallized on all sides except one area on the rear where another epimorph intersected the formation. Ex. Marcelle (1918-2003) & Charles (1917-2003) Weber #3466
