Mineral:Calcite on Fluorite
Locality:Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois
Description:Transparent yellow-purple fluorite in cubic crystals up to 2 cm, overgrown with translucent, golden, scalenohedral crystals of calcite up to 10 mm. Hard to photograph - must be seen. The calcite fluoresces under UV illumination.
Overall Size:11x9x6 cm
