Mineral:Calcite on Fluorite
Locality:Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois
Description:Parallel groups of colorless calcite crystals up to 20 mm long overgrown on dark purple fluorite crystals up to 20 mm. The calcite crystals are elongated scalenohedral form (some tips are incomplete) and most have a bitumen coating near the base.
