Mineral:Calcite and Sphalerite
Locality:Tri-State Lead-Zinc Mining District, near Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri
Description:Large yellow calcite crystals up to 4 cm long on limestone matrix with many small red-brown sphalerite crystals up to 2.5 mm. Some areas show weathering from groundwater. A classic specimen collected ca. 1930.
