Locality:Laven, Langesundsfjord, Norway
Description:Foliated black lepidomelane crystal (iron-rich phlogopite or annite) in gray feldspar matrix. The crystal is exposed on the edge of the matrix. NOTE: Labeled as a variety of biotite, no longer a valid mineral species, now a group containing annite, etc. Ex. John A. Rorer, Jr. collection #255; Dr. Rorer obtained this specimen while in London 1952
