Locality:Minerva #1 Mine, Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois
Description:Lustrous fluorite crystal with a smooth cap perched on an etched stem (a scepter-like formation). The fluorite is yellow in the center, with purple outer zones. There is a subsurface layer of black bitumen that makes it dark. Small chipping on edges.
