Locality:Sar-e-Sang, Kokscha Valley, Badakshan, Afghanistan
Description:Several crystals of sodalite, variety hackmanite, frozen in white marble matrix. The hackmanite fades to pale blue-purple in white light, and turns deeper purple when exposed to UV light (this reaction is known as tenebrescence).
Overall Size:7x4x4 cm
Crystals:4-12 mm
