Description:Oval cabochon of transparent red almandine garnet with minor internal flaws. These almandine garnet crystals were discovered in 1888 by young Gilman Stanton during construction. Stanton later grew-up to become NYMC president. Ex. Gilman Stanton (1872-1954) in 1888. See Manchester's description in Minerals of New York City and It's Environs (1931).
