Mineral:Calcite (twinned crystals) on Amethyst
Locality:Guanajuato, Mexico
Description:Scalenohedral white calcite crystals up to 40 mm long on a plate of purple amethyst quartz crystals up to 5 mm. The calcite has two twinned crystals symmetrically emerging from the sides, and fluoresces orange under UV illumination. Ex. John Albanese (1898-1969), ex. John Albanese, Jr.
