Mineral:Calcite over Fluorite
Locality:Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois
Description:Purple cubic fluorite crystal completely overgrown with scalenohedral translucent brown calcite crystals up to 35 mm long. The calcite crystals are most translucent at the tips where they have rhombohedral termination faces that give them a rounded look.
Overall Size:6x5x4 cm
