Mineral:Almandine Garnet
Locality:Penland, Mitchell County, North Carolina
Description:Rich specimen of many wine-red garnet crystals in biotite schist. The garnets are most likely almandine. Almost every surface is garnet, though the complex cluster is hard to photograph. Ex. Clarence Wilson in 1949
