Mineral:Vivianite pseudomorphs after Belemnites
Locality:Mullica Hill, Gloucester County, New Jersey
Description:Elongated belemnite fossils up to 7 cm long that were completely replaced by crystallized black vivianite in limonitic sandstone matrix (greensands). This is the best example of these pseudomorphs in the academy collection. Ex. Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia collection #22178, presented by Nicola d'Ascenzo (1871-1954)
