Mineral:Gypsum, Amethyst Quartz with casts after Glauberite
Locality:Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey
Description:Pinkish amethyst quartz with rhombic cavities where the quartz formed around glauberite crystals that naturally dissolved away. One area has colorless to brownish gypsum crystals, an uncommon late-forming mineral in the zeolite cavities. Ex. Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia collection #21339, collected by Sam Gordon (1897-1952)
