Description:Rounded black iron-rich quartz, the variety once known as basanite until 1892. Notable because it was from Leidy, Father of American Vertebrate Paleontology. Ex. Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia collection #2612, presented by Dr. Jos. Leidy (1823-1891)
