Mineral:Barite with Calcite and Chalcopyrite
Locality:Minerva #1 Mine, Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois
Description:Lustrous translucent white bladed barite crystals to 18 mm with scattered transparent pale-yellow calcite crystals to 1 mm. Small metallic chalcopyrite crystals to 1.5 mm are scattered throughout. Barite is uncommon in the Illinois fluorite mines.
