Mineral:Aragonite with Calcite
Locality:Johnby Quarry, near Penrith, Cumbria, England
Description:Elongated, tapered aragonite crystals up to 4 cm long with surfaces of colorless calcite. The old label indicates these are calcite pseudomorphs after aragonite, but it appears simply to be a coating - not an alteration. Most are incomplete. Ex. Steve Chamberlain collection #4557, collected in 1981
